Corn is a heavy feeder that benefits from ample fertilization and side dressing during growth. Harvest when silks have dried to a dark brown and kernels have filled to the tip of the ear. We recommend checking sweet corn about 3 weeks after silk appears. Popcorn and ornamental corn should have the kernels dry and hard (check with fingernail).
