We offer certified organic pea seed for varieties of English/shelling peas, snap peas and snow peas. Peas are a cool-season annual that prefer abundant phosphorus, a pH of 6.0 or higher, and can tolerate soil temperatures as low as 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Because peas are planted in the early spring when conditions are often wet, good drainage is important. Sandy soils are best. Direct seed as soon as soil can be worked in early spring. Harvest often to encourage continuous pod production.
BLIZZARD SNOW PEA Concentrated, prolific yields of slender, pale green pods with crisp texture. Vines top out at 30-36" and hold multitudes of sweet, easy to pick pods. Plants are open, making the pods easy to locate. Best grown with a trellis. Pods set in pairs which aids in efficient harvesting. Snow peas have a sweet a delectable pod. These are harvested while peas are still small. 3 inch pods. 1 oz pack. OP
LAXTON'S PROGRESS #9 SHELLING PEA Short compact vines and plump pods filled with high quality peas. Small 15-20" plants produce heavy yields of large pods with up to nine peas per pod (hence the name). This is the shelling pea that we grow on our farm. 4-5" pods. 1 oz pack. OP
SWEET GEM SNAP PEA Strong, sturdy plants that resist lodging and produce abundant harvests of light green pods. Plants and pods are clean, making for uniform and efficient harvests.
